In 1995, David joined Conran Restaurants and successfully managed Mezzo in Soho (the building now houses 100 Wardour Street restaurant and lounge), before holding a number of senior positions, resulting in his appointment as Managing Director of the group in 1998. Two years later, he moved on from Conran and set up the highly acclaimed Wolseley restaurant, before returning to join current partner Des to lead the management buyout of Conran and create D&D London. In 2014, David was also appointed as Chairman of the Restaurant Association, part of The British Hospitality Association.
